International workshop / Training School 2026
Across the world’s deltas, freshwater scarcity and soil salinization are putting increasing pressure on agriculture, food security and water management. These challenges demand more than theory, they call for practical, field-tested solutions and strong international collaboration.
During the SALTA International Workshop / Training School 2026, experts, farmers, researchers, policymakers and innovators from around the globe will come together in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, to exchange knowledge and accelerate real-world action. The program of the Training School is supported by the SUSTAIN COST Action program and grant holder VU Amsterdam.
Expect inspiring keynote speakers on crop salt tolerance and irrigation guidelines, interactive thematic group sessions, student innovation pitches, an international knowledge market, and field visits to leading testing facilities and pioneering projects in the Dutch delta. Together, we will move towards a joint international action agenda for resilient agriculture in salt-affected environments.
Join us on June 9–10, 2026, at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, and be part of shaping practical solutions for deltas worldwide.
